Born to run?

BORN TO RUNWe trail run – a lot. What started as a way to get outside and take advantage of Bozeman’s trails has turned into an obsession. It’s both a way to stay healthy and a meditation that we rely on to center ourselves, clear our minds and maintain a connection to nature. We were late to the trail running scene – starting in our 30s – and had little experience running prior. Our bad form and enthusiasm quickly resulted in nagging injuries (knees, hips, feet, etc). We began asking ourselves why some people can enjoy a lifetime of long distance trail running without injury and why others are perpetually nagged by pain that keeps them off the trails? Weren’t we born to run? Fortunately, the aspiring runner and author Christopher McDougall was asking himself the same questions.

BORN TO RUN explores the differences between those who appear to be superhuman athletes and the rest of us. His findings will surprise you. Turns out, it is part body mechanics (as you might expect) and part a love for running that elevates them above the drive to just to go faster and farther.

This is a highly recommended book for runners, aspiring runners and all those into a good travel journal.
